Description

Day 1 – Ribera del Duero: Tradition, Vineyards, and Historic Wineries Depart Madrid for the prestigious wine region of Ribera del Duero, renowned for its elegant reds. Guided visit to Bodega Protos or a similar winery in the area, with a tour of its facilities and a tasting of three wines with local snacks. Lunch in Peñafiel with a Castilian menu paired with local wines. Continue to Aranda de Duero to visit a second historic winery — Don Carlos or El Lagar de Isilla — or similar. In the afternoon, arrival in Miranda de Ebro, accommodation, and dinner at your leisure in the old town. Day 2 – Nature and salt: Salto del Nervión and Salinas de Añana Breakfast and departure to the Salto del Nervión, the highest waterfall on the Peninsula (220 m). Hike to the vantage point and explanation of the natural surroundings of the Delika Canyon. Continue to the Salinas de Añana, with a guided visit to learn about its ancient salt production. Lunch in Haro, the wine capital of Rioja, followed by a visit to a local winery — such as Eguren Ugarte or Luis Cañas — with a tasting. Return to Miranda de Ebro and accommodation. Day 3 – The legacy of wine: Vivanco and the Museum of Wine Culture Breakfast and departure to Briones to visit Bodegas Vivanco and its Museum of Wine Culture, the most comprehensive in the world on the subject. Tour of the museum, the winery, and wine tasting. Lunch in Laguardia, a charming walled village surrounded by vineyards. Free time in Briones or Haro before returning to Madrid, arriving at the end of the day.
