Description
Faunia spans 16 hectares and houses over 1,200 animals across 152 species. It features four ecosystems—The Jungle, The Poles, the African Forest, and the Temperate Forest—each replicating the natural habitats of its inhabitants.
In The Jungle, encounter manatees, macaws, toucans, and titi monkeys within a tropical climate. The Poles ecosystem hosts over 100 penguins of six species, showcasing aquatic behaviors in Europe’s largest polar environment. The African Forest, inspired by Madagascar, presents lemurs and colorful birds. The Temperate Forest includes animals like muntjacs, mazamas, and demoiselle cranes.
Additional themed zones offer further exploration: a nocturnal area with ocelots, two-toed sloths, and aardvarks; a karstic cave featuring naked mole-rats and frilled lizards; an Australian meadow with Bennett's wallabies; a mangrove habitat with Nile crocodiles; and sections dedicated to venomous species such as snakes, spiders, and jellyfish.
Throughout your visit, participate in educational talks and interactive sessions to observe sea lions, manatees, penguins, pelicans, and crocodiles. Faunia promotes conservation through collaborations with the Parques Reunidos Foundation and the European Association of Zoos and Aquaria (EAZA).
