Description

Visit Sackman, Madrid's own craft distillery, a project born in 2017 out of an unlikely idea: making great whisky in the Spanish capital. Founded by chemist José Gómez and master brewer Ernesto Huete, the team spent its early years as an independent bottler before opening its own urban distillery in Valdemoro in 2022. Today it's a compact, hands-on laboratory where every step happens under one roof, from milling locally-sourced malted barley to the final bottling. On this 70-minute guided tour, follow the full production process behind three very different spirits: craft beer, whisky, and gin. See the handcrafted copper pot still and brew house where it all comes together. Learn how the barley is malted with local partners, fermented for over 100 hours, and distilled in small batches using traditional methods, with the whisky aged a minimum of 3 years in carefully selected casks. The visit ends with a guided tasting of 5 signature products, with the team walking you through the character and craft behind each one.
