Alcazar of Toledo Guided Tour with National Army Museum Visit
This guided tour explores the Alcazar of Toledo, ideal for history enthusiasts interested in military architecture and Spanish heritage.
Description
Discover the interior of the Alcazar, originally built during the Islamic period to protect Toledo. An expert guide leads you through the building's most significant rooms, providing historical context and detailed information.
From the entrance, you can see archaeological remains including an ancient cistern with over two thousand years of history, the walls of the Arab Alcazar, and a 14th-century tower. Visual displays help you understand the Alcazar's evolution: from a Roman pretorium to an Islamic fortress, then a palace rebuilt in Renaissance style in the 16th century.
Since 2009, the Alcazar houses the National Museum of the Spanish Army. Walk among historic military artifacts such as uniforms, cannons, and swords linked to notable Spanish figures. The museum also features a recently donated historic armor collection.
