Description
Itinerary At the appointed time we will meet in the center of Madrid, from where we will depart by bus to Toledo and Segovia, where we will discover why they have been declared World Heritage Sites by Unesco! Our first stop will be in Toledo, known as the City of Three Cultures for preserving important traces of the history of the three monotheistic religions that inhabited the area for centuries. We will enjoy the millenary architectural, artistic and urban heritage of the city as we walk through its narrow streets, squares and gardens. We will pass by the Cathedral of Toledo, one of the most outstanding examples of Spanish Gothic architecture, and the Monastery of San Juan de los Reyes, the place chosen by the Catholic Monarchs to be buried. Before heading to Segovia, we will admire some of the most impressive panoramic views of Toledo from the San Martin Bridge and the Mirador del Valle. The next stop will be in Segovia, where we will leave you free time for lunch. Of course, we will see the Aqueduct, one of the best preserved monuments left by the Romans in the Iberian Peninsula. We will contemplate the Cathedral of Segovia, popularly known as 'the Lady of Cathedrals' for the amazing beauty of its Gothic style with Renaissance influences. We will also walk through the Canonjías neighborhood until we reach the famous Alcazar, one of the most visited monuments in Spain, from where we can admire part of the layout of the walls that surrounded Segovia in medieval times. Finally, after a total of 11 hours of excursion, we will be back in the Spanish capital.
