Description

You'll meet your guide close by to the Lavapiés Metro stop, you will be finishing close by as well. All of our guides are artists or art historians providing an authentic connection to the local scene. The tour is a 2 hour walk through the Lavapiés which is the neighbourhood known for it's vibrant Street Art scene. To round off the experience you'll have a drink at a local art gallery in the neighbourhood, where the tour ends. You will see the big important murals which are as Instagrammable as your new sunglasses, as well as the small and in some cases tiny details which really add the colour to the neighbourhood and the tour. You’ll get to know about the main artists on the scene, what their work symbolises and the cultural references behind it, you’ll even get the chance to meet local artists at the gallery visit. You’ll leave with a newfound appreciation and skills to decipher the hidden messages on the walls around you, how to recognize different graffiti styles and types of street art from tags and paste-ups to urban sculpture, and much much more.
