Description
Start your journey at the Temple of Debod, an authentic Egyptian temple gifted to Spain by Egypt and reconstructed in Madrid. Enjoy panoramic views over the city’s historic center, a popular spot among locals to watch the sunset. Continue to Plaza de España, a major central square surrounded by iconic buildings such as Hotel RIU, Edificio España, and the end of Gran Vía. Admire the square’s decoration, inspired by Don Quixote de la Mancha and its author Cervantes. Next, visit the Sabatini Gardens, the official gardens of the Royal Palace. Recently renovated, these gardens offer elegant landscaping and scenic viewpoints. Then, head to Plaza de Oriente, an iconic square connecting the Royal Palace and the Royal Opera House. Designed in French style, it features statues that once stood atop the Palace and a central fountain, one of the most important in Madrid. Stop at the overlook at Plaza de la Armería, a viewpoint offering panoramas of eastern Madrid and the other side of the Manzanares River. Enjoy views of the mountains and Casa de Campo park. Then, head to Parque de las Vistillas, where you can take in stunning views of Almudena Cathedral and Segovia Bridge (Viaducto de Segovia). This is a chill gathering spot for locals to enjoy the sunset or a drink outdoors. Visit the San Francisco Rose Garden, located beside one of Madrid’s most important basilicas, San Francisco el Grande. Though relatively modern, it features a classical statue and views of the basilica’s old façade. This is the entrance to the La Latina neighborhood. Finally, end your tour at Plaza de los Carros, originally a spot where carts unloaded goods for the nearby Market of La Cebada. Surrounded by churches and local shops, with views of San Francisco el Grande, this square is just a few meters away from the San Isidro Museum, dedicated to Madrid’s patron saint, usually with free entry.Includes
