Description

Discover one of Spain’s most prestigious wine regions on this full-day trip from Madrid — the Ribera del Duero. Surrounded by rolling vineyards and ancient villages, you’ll learn the art of winemaking directly from local producers. We’ll depart from central Madrid in the morning in a comfortable air-conditioned van. After a scenic two-hour drive through Castilian landscapes, we’ll arrive at the heart of Ribera del Duero, home to some of Spain’s finest red wines. Our first stop is a family-owned vineyard, where you’ll be invited to join la vendimia — the traditional grape harvest (seasonal). Learn how to cut grapes, understand how the soil and climate influence the flavor, and see how the must is transformed into wine. Next, visit the winery’s cellars to discover the process of fermentation, aging, and bottling. You’ll enjoy a guided tasting of several wines, paired with local snacks such as cheese, chorizo, or fresh bread. We’ll then continue to a second boutique winery, where innovation meets tradition. Learn about barrel selection and the secrets behind Ribera’s intense aromas and colors. Another tasting awaits — this time in a different setting, surrounded by vineyards and mountain views. Afterward, enjoy some free time for lunch in a local restaurant (optional) before returning to Madrid in the late afternoon.
