If you are in Madrid and want to discover one of the most charming villages in Castilla-La Mancha, this excursion is for you! We will meet at the appointed time at the departure point for our adventure to Consuegra, famous for being home to the iconic windmills that so inspired Cervantes. We will travel comfortably by minibus to this picturesque town in the province of Toledo. Upon arrival, we will make a brief stop at the Plaza de España in Consuegra, where you will have free time to have breakfast or enjoy the local atmosphere. Next, we will begin the guided visit to Cerro Calderico, the site of the famous windmills of Consuegra. Here, you can admire these gigantic structures and learn about the history behind them. Did you know that Don Quixote mistook them for giants in his famous adventure? During the tour, you will also discover how these landscapes of La Mancha inspired Miguel de Cervantes to create his most famous work. After exploring the hill, we will visit the interior of the Molino Rucio, one of the most representative windmills in the area. Through this experience, you will learn how they worked at the time and their historical importance in the region. The next stop on our tour will be the **Castillo de la Muela**, an impressive medieval fortress standing atop a hill. The castle has a fascinating history, having been a key stronghold during the Reconquista thanks to its strategic location. You will have free time to explore its rooms and walls at your leisure and enjoy the panoramic views of the area. After visiting the castle, we will return to Madrid, where we will arrive at the meeting point, ending a five-hour excursion full of history, culture, and unforgettable landscapes. Important: The guided tour of the castle will only be conducted in Spanish by Consuegra Tourism. Don't miss the opportunity to explore one of the most emblematic corners of La Mancha! We will start our tour at 9:00 a.m. and return to Madrid at 3:00 p.m.
