Description

If you're in Madrid and want to discover one of the most charming villages in Castilla-La Mancha, this tour is for you! We'll meet at the indicated time at our departure point for our adventure to Consuegra, famous for being home to the iconic windmills that inspired Cervantes. We'll travel comfortably by minibus to this picturesque town in the province of Toledo. Upon arrival, we'll make a brief stop in Consuegra's Plaza de España, where you'll have free time to have breakfast or enjoy the local atmosphere and listen to the medieval history of Consuegra. Next, we'll start the guided tour of Cerro Calderico, where you'll find the famous windmills of Consuegra. Here, you can admire these gigantic structures and learn the history behind them. Did you know that Don Quixote mistook them for giants in his famous adventure? During the tour, you'll also discover how these Manchegan landscapes inspired Miguel de Cervantes to create his most famous work. After exploring the hill, we'll visit the inside of the Molino Rucio, one of the most iconic mills in the area. Through this experience, you'll learn how they worked back then and their historical importance in the region. The next stop on our tour will be the **Castillo de la Muela**, an impressive medieval fortress that stands on top of a hill. The castle has a fascinating history, being a key bastion during the Reconquista thanks to its strategic location. You'll have a guided tour inside the castle, where you can explore its rooms, walls, and enjoy the panoramic views the area offers. After the castle visit, we'll head back to Madrid, where we'll arrive at the meeting point, ending a 7-hour excursion full of history, culture, and unforgettable landscapes. Important: The guided tour of the Castle will only be conducted in Spanish by Consuegra Tourism. Don't miss the chance to explore one of the most iconic corners of La Mancha! We'll start our tour at 9:00 a.m. and head back to Madrid at 4:00 p.m.
