Hi there! We’re a team of proffesional french-speaking guides who live in Madrid. This tour is for anyone who wants to discover the city not just by looking at monuments, but by really understanding what they’re about — with a bit of history, some local stories, and good conversation along the way. We’ll meet in Puerta Cerrada, a small square right in the centre and a symbolic and historic starting point. During this tour, we will take you to discover the fascinating history of Madrid by exploring its most famous monuments and squares. Along the way, we’ll pass iconic places such as Plaza Mayor, the city’s former lively market square; Mercado de San Miguel, a modern gourmet spot set in a historic building; and Chocolatería San Ginés, famous for its churros since the 19th century (we won’t stop for a tasting, but it’s worth coming back later!). The route also includes stops near the Royal Palace and Almudena Cathedral, where we will share exciting stories about the Spanish monarchy and Madrid’s transformation through the centuries. You’ll also see Plaza de la Villa, one of the oldest and most charming squares in the city, full of medieval character. This is more than just an architecture tour. It’s a real journey through time, a deep dive into Madrid’s history. You’ll learn how the city was founded, the role of the Moors in its development, and how Madrid became the capital of Spain. One question we’ll answer: do the kings still live in the Royal Palace? This isn’t a scripted tour — we talk with you, not just give you a scripted speech ! You can ask questions at any time, and we always adjust depending on the group’s interests. For us, guiding is not about dates and names (though we know them and we'll give them to you!), it’s about sharing the stories that make the city come alive. ✨ Private tour option: If you book a private tour, you can choose to extend your experience. Extension (1 hour): We’ll also take you through La Latina, which used to be part of the old Morería (the Moorish quarter). Today, it’s a favorite spot for locals, full of narrow pedestrian streets, little squares, charming old churches, and even palaces hidden between the buildings. It feels like a village inside the city, where you’ll find plenty of cozy bars and restaurants. It’s a place that really captures Madrid’s authentic local vibe, and we absolutely love it.

Last-minute cancellations in case of rain or bad weather won't be rescheduled and will receive no refund. Late arrivals: • Group tours: We'll wait up to 15 minutes for late arrivals. After that, the tour will proceed with the guests present. Once the tour has started, it is not possible to join late. No refunds will be issued for no-shows.
• Private tours: The guide will wait up to 30 minutes for late arrivals. Once this time has passed, the tour will be considered a no-show.
