Description

From the monument to Cervantes, in Plaza de España, we'll take a tour of Madrid from head to toe in the most complete way in the city. We'll start by seeing why there's an Egyptian temple in the center of Spain, and from here we'll have a little glimpse of what awaits us. We'll then pass by the largest palace in Western Europe. Yep, the Royal Palace of Madrid, the official seat of the monarchy. Here we'll talk about the Palace, Almudena Cathedral, the Royal Theater (and the expression 'Mucha m*****!'), and a statue that Galileo Galilei himself helped build. Then we'll take a stroll through the Madrid de los Austrias, greeting the curious neighbor who's contemplating the foundations of the old Almudena, we'll pass through Calle del Codo, where the writer Quevedo used to pass, and we'll continue until we reach the Plaza Mayor. What was once a market, Plaza Mayor has more than four centuries of history, its fires, memories of the War and Ah, the oldest restaurant in the world! In just a few steps, you'll be in Puerta del Sol, the heart of Madrid. You'll go in and out several times, through its various streets that connect it with Gran Vía, its main artery. Then we'll walk along Calle Alcalá, passing by the Círculo de Bellas Artes, the (real) Banco de España (not the one from Money Heist), the Cibeles fountain and palace, and the Puerta de Alcalá, before ending up in Retiro Park. Here, you'll see its ponds, the Crystal Palace, and the Fallen Angel.
