Botín appears in Spanish literature steadily. Benito Pérez Galdos alludes to it in one of his famous novels: Fortunata and Jacinta or Mercy.

Botín is still a meeting place of Spanish and world culture. In his restaurant have eaten Graham Greene, Truman Capote and Hemingway.

Famous are the tributes that Hemingway was given to reflects how much he enjoy meals there: 'I ate a very big meal and drank three bottels of wine from Rioja Alta'
